FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Are Pure Natura's products Certified organic ?

In general, lamb meat production in Iceland does not have organic certifications except for a few farms. Sheep farming has been done the same way since the year 874 and Icelanders are very aware of the quality and purity of the meat. Therefore most farmers do not see the value in spending money on organic certifications.

All Icelandic sheep live their entire lives roaming free in the hills of Iceland, eating exclusively pesticide-, and fertilizer free grass and wild herbs that grow in nature. In that sense the sheep are essentially more like wild game rather than farm animals. The farmers association has its own label for lamb meat, which puts emphasis on this fact – i.e. that they are free roaming in nature, fed on grass, herbs and clean water. https://icelandiclamb.is

The plants and herbs we use for our products grow wild in the highland or elsewhere far away from agricultural land and human intervention. Garlic being the only exception as it does not grow wild in Iceland. We therefore use organic garlic grown abroad,  in hopes that it will be available in Iceland soon.

Are there any pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or other unwanted chemicals used on the plants and herbs in Pure Natura’s whole food supplements?

Absolutely none! There are no such substances used on the plants and herbs included in our products. These are wild growing plants, growing without the use of fertilizers and other unwanted chemicals.

What about antibiotics, how can you be sure there are none in the organ meat used in the supplements ?
According to the European Medicines Agency and the national Goverments of the US, Australia and New Zealand, Iceland has one of the lowest use of antibiotics in agriculture. Only Norway has a little less use. This means that the organ meat of the lambs used for our supplement is one of the purest meat possible to get in the world today.
Are Pure Natura’s whole food supplement comparable with synthetic multivitamin supplement ?
They are more comparable with real, highly nutritional food since they are supplements made from concentrated, dehydrated whole foods. The vitamins found within these supplements are not isolated like synthetic supplement formulas.

They are highly complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, trace elements, activators, and many other unknown or undiscovered factors all working together synergistically.

A perfect design of nature to enable this vitamin complex to do its job in your body. Many of them are protein-bound, such as iron, which is so-called heme-iron, a form much better utilized by the body than other forms of iron.

Whole food supplements provide nutritional balance whereas synthetic vitamins can produce drug-like effects and produce an imbalance in the body.

Can Pure Natura’s whole food supplement be taken instead of synthetic multivitamin supplement ?
Absolutely. We believe that organ meats are nature’s optimal multivitamin formula.
Is it okay to take other food supplements along with Pure Natura supplements ?

We would not recommend taking vitamin A along with the Pure Natura supplements containing lamb liver. There is also no need to take supplements containing the B-vitamins or iron. You may want to add some extra vitamins or fats to the daily dose of Pure Natura supplements, such as vitamin C, Omega 3 and vitamin D (especially if you live in the northern hemisphere).

We recommend consulting with your doctor or registered dietician about these matters.

Do Pure Natura’s whole food supplements contain gluten, lactose, soy, artificial colors, flavors or binders ?
No, none.
Do Pure Natura’s whole food supplement come in pills or capsules ?

They come in bovine capsules that can be opened and put in food or shakes if preferred.

Is it safe to use Pure Natura’s whole food products daily, year round?

Long-term use should be perfectly safe as long as you do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Is it okay to open the capsules and consume the powder or add the powder to food, rather than swallowing them whole ?
Yes. The supplements can be added to food or shakes for those who can´t swallow capsules.
Is there a protocol for how to use Pure Natura’s Whole Food supplements?

Stick to the daily dose stated on the label and consider rotating the products in order to get the most benefit from them. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

How can you make sure the products are not tainted with GMO´s or any other foreign substances?

There are no GMO crops harvested in Iceland so there is no risk of cross pollination or mixing with GMO´s. The lambs from whom the glands and organs are derived from, are exclusively raised on grass and herbs and never receive any GMO feeds.

Iceland is an extremely clean country, with very low pollution. Therefore we can say with certainty that our products are as clean and free from any kind of pollution and foreign matters as possible. The production process is very gentle and does not require any harsh methods or substances.

How can you claim your products are so good?

Because both the raw materials and the production process deliver a unique product, not found anywhere else in the world or on the vitamin marked.

We do not buy any plants or herbs originated from China.

Where does Pure Natura get its organs and glands from ?

Is Organ meats bad for gout ?
We would not recommend eating organ meats until the gout is under full control. Organ meats are bad for gout because they have a very high purine content, which can trigger a gout attack. On the other hand organ meats are good for overall health because they are loaded with nutrients like vitamins, minerals and healthy fats – which may help prevent future gout attacks.
Should anyone avoid eating organ meat?

Those with too much iron in their blood and those who have gout should consult with their doctor before consuming large amounts of organ meats.

The ingredients in our supplements are in their raw form. Those, who for some reason are sensitive to raw meat, might want to avoid taking them. This includes cancer patients on immune-suppressing therapy.
