Icelandic farmers are gathering their sheep before winter

Every year in September, Icelandic farmers, head to the mountains to herd their sheep and get them back home before the first snow arrives in Iceland.

The beautiful, clean Icelandic mountains have been their home since the beginning of June and the only home that the lambs born that spring, ever get to know. The lambs have roamed free with their mother all summer, eating grass herbs and berries. During this time, they have grown enormously fast due to these extra ordinary good living conditions.

This picture shows Rúnar, a farmer in Skagafjordur North west Iceland gathering his sheep last weekend. We hope you like it as much as we do.
